On Sunday morning, the North Delta Pirates needed a big defensive and offensive outing against the Kamloops RiverDogs to give them a chance to advance into the semi-final of the Sussex All-Star Tournament in Kamloops; and they got it, earning a 9-1 victory in the process.

Kamloops scored their first and only run in the bottom half of the second inning on a North Delta error.

The game ended on an infield play when Jared Goumans scooped up a ground ball at short-stop and threw to first-baseman Kyle Sallinen to record the final out of the game.

The North Delta Pirates await the result of a Delta Blue Jays - Kamloops RiverDogs tilt later in the day to see who will advance to the semi-finals of the Sussex All-Star tournament. Will the likely scenario of three teams (Penticton, North Delta, and the Blue Jays) tied with 3-1 records and only two semi-final spots, the decision will likely come down first to runs-scored-against in the tournament and second to runs-scored versus runs-against differential. An unconfirmed analysis suggests the following possible outcomes:
Scenario 1: If Kamloops scores one or more runs against the Delta Blue Jays if their evening game, Penticton and North Delta would advance
Scenario 2: If Kamloops does not score and the Delta Blue Jays score six or fewer runs, Penticton and North Delta would advance
Scenario 3: If Kamloops does not score and the Delta Blue Jays score seven runs, Penticton would advance and a coin flip would determine whether North Delta or the Blue Jays would advance
Scenario 4: If Kamloops does not score and the Delta Blue Jays score eight or more tuns, Penticton and the Blue Jays would advance
The North Delta Pirates next game will either be Monday in Kamloops in the semi-final of the tournament, or on Saturday, July 6th against the North Island Cubs on Vancouver Island.
