North Delta Pirates Defeat North Shore Knights as Ryo Ikeda Goes 4-for-4 at the Plate

Ryo Ikeda collected four hits in four at bats, as the North Delta Pirates defeated the North Shore Knights 13-3 on Tuesday at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. Ikeda doubled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

  • The North Delta Pirates got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sammy Wong doubled, and Noah Grant singled, each scoring one run.

  • North Delta added two runs in the third after Ikeda doubled and led 4-0.

  • North Shore battled back in the bottom of the third, scoring 3 runs to tighten the game to 4-3.

  • The North Delta Pirates added three more runs in the fifth inning on an Ikeda double and an error to lead 7-3.

  • Then, in the top of the seventh inning, the North Delta Pirates closed out their opponents with six runs: on multiple errors, a Lucas Stebbings double, and a Brendan Grant sacrifice fly.

  • Liam Jones began the game for the North Delta Pirates. The lefty surrendered six hits and three runs in a complete-game, seven inning performance, striking out eight and walking one. He picked up the win for his effort.

  • Hazen Stokes started on the hill for North Shore. They surrendered seven hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

  • The North Delta Pirates piled up 11 hits in the game. N. Grant and Wong each collected multiple hits while Ikeda was perfect in his plate appearances.

  • Carson Stoochnoff led the team with two walks in two plate appearances.

  • The North Delta Pirates turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error.

  • Stokes, Daniel Santarelli, Finn Prescott, Jack Ruttan, Lachlan Jones, and Maxwell Chan each collected a hit for North Short.

  • Stokes, Garrett Hungle, and Chan each drove in one run.

  • The North Delta Pirates will travel to the Cloverdale Rangers for their next game on Thursday.
