North Delta Pirates and Penticton Tigers Tie

NORTH DELTA, BC — April 13, 2024

The North Delta Pirates and the Penticton Tigers tied 4-4 on Saturday in the second game of a double header at Mackie Park in North Delta.

  • The Penticton Tigers opened the scoring in the fourth after Hunter Clements grounded out, scoring one run.

  • Penticton further added to their lead to go up 3-0 in the top of the sixth when Clements doubled and a run scored. M. Pearce then singled on a line drive to left field and a second run scored.

  • The North Delta Pirates came roaring back to take the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth when Jared Goumans singled, scoring one run, Sammy Wong drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kyle Sallinen singled, scoring two runs.

  • Kaden Collins singled in the top of the seventh inning, helping Penticton knot the game at 4-4.

  • North Delta failed to score a run in the bottom of the seventh and the game was called on account of darkness, resulting in a 4-4 tie.

  • Sallinen opened the game for the North Delta Pirates. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and four runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking none.

  • Linden Moore led things off on the mound for Penticton and gave up five hits and two runs over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two.

  • Sallinen led North Delta with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day.

  • Leadoff hitter Riku Sakuta let the North Delta Pirates with two hits in four at bats.

  • The North Delta Pirates had a strong eye at the plat, amassing six walks for the game.

  • Tyler Conway and Wong led the team with two walks each.

  • Penticton piled up 10 hits in the game.

  • Clements drove the middle of the lineup, leading Penticton with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day.

  • Wyatt Moore and Patrick Beauchamp each collected two hits for Penticton.

  • Penticton didn’t commit a single error in the field.

  • Carson Burnett had the most chances in the field with eight.

  • The North Delta Pirates will travel to Unwin Field in Surrey for their next two games against the Kamloops RiverDogs on Sunday.
