Lucas Stebbings’ Big Day Propels North Delta Pirates Past South Fraser Giants

Lucas Stebbings collected three hits in three at bats, as the North Delta Pirates defeated the South Fraser Giants 12-0 on Thursday. Stebbings singled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Ryo Ikeda struck out 11 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also surrendered one hit and zero runs over six innings while walking none.

  • The North Delta Pirates jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning after Sammy Wong doubled, scoring two runs, Stebbings singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

  • North Delta then followed their productive fourth with a similar sixth, scoring six more runs on six hits. Tyler Conway singled, scoring two runs, Ikeda drew a walk, scoring a run, Wong tripled, scoring one run, and Riku Sakuta singled, scoring one run.

  • Hunter Dutton led things off on the hill for South Fraser. The southpaw surrendered three hits and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.

  • The North Delta Pirates accumulated 12 hits in the game. Wong provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led North Delta with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Noah Grant and Noah Saunders each collected multiple hits for North Delta.

  • N. Grant, Conway, Sakuta, Ikeda, and Saunders each stole multiple bases for North Delta with the team tallying 15 stolen bases for the game.

  • The North Delta Pirates turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error.

  • Dakota Simicak led the South Fraser Giants with one hit in one at bat.

  • The North Delta Pirates play at home on Tuesday, June 4th against the Tri City Thunder in their next game.
