Big Second Inning Leads North Delta Pirates Past West Kelowna D-Backs
The North Delta Pirates scored six runs in the second inning, helping them defeat the West Kelowna D-Backs 10-3 on Sunday.

The North Delta Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ryo Ikeda singled, Sammy Wong singled, and Payton Harper grounded out, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the second inning their lead extended to 9-0 when Noah Grant singled, scoring one run, a passed ball scored one run, Ikeda singled, scoring two runs, Brendan Grant drew a walk, scoring one run, and Noah Saunders singed, scoring one run.
The North Delta Pirates cruised to a 10-3 final victory across the final innings of the game.
N. Grant earned the win for North Delta. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none.
Jayden Derouin took the loss for West Kelowna. They went four innings, surrendering 10 runs on 10 hits, striking out three and walking five.
Nathan Strang collected the save for the North Delta Pirates.
The North Delta Pirates tallied 11 hits in the game.
Ikeda provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led North Delta with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.
Tyler Bernabe stole two bases and the team collected six for the game.
B. Grant made a leaping play over the third base fence, catching a foul ball in bounds in the top of the sixth to add some dazzle to the morning tilt.
The North Delta Pirates turned one double play in the game.
Keefer Edwards led West Kelowna with two hits in three at bats.
Derouin and Edwards each drove in one run.
West Kelowna turned three double plays in the game.
